  • 'Mangrove Wall - Artist's Residence' (2003-2007) - <p> </p><p> </p><p>Living Room & Kitchen</p><p> </p><p>Type: Photographic Liquid Emulsion. </p><p>Editions: Unique </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p><u>About <b>  '<i>Mangrove Wall'</i></b></u></p><p> </p><p>The apartment was temporarily turned into a darkroom for light-sensitive photographic emulsion to be applied, exposed and chemically processed in situ.</p><p> </p><p><i>Mangrove Wall</i> was made as a response to the French scenic wallpaper <i>Les Sauvages de la Mer Pacifique</i> (1804), a 10metre woodblock panorama depicting an unrealistic Southern Arcadia. </p><p> </p><p><i>Mangrove Wall</i> has been installed in three sites: the Artist's residence (4 years), The Institute of Modern Art (1 month) and Stills Gallery (1 month).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>

The Port

  • 'The Port (topography)' (2003) - <p> </p><p> </p><p>Size: Variable</p><p>Type: Different sized woodblocks, covered with photographs and resin</p><p>Edition: Unique </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p><u>About <b>  '<i>The Port'</i></b></u></p><p> </p><p>This series is based on multiple excursions to Brisbane Port (Australia) and the nearby mangrove forests of Moreton Bay. </p><p> </p><p>The three works making up <i>The Port</i> series, are aligned to three spaces/images: the <i>underbelly,</i> the <i>topography </i>and the <i>nearby</i> of a mangrove tree. </p><p> </p><p>The three spaces/images were printed in multiples of hundreds as C-type prints. The prints were hand-cut, collaged and glued onto pieces of wood of varying sizes, which were then installed into/onto corners of the gallery - in an attempt to echo the dramatic push and pull of light and water around plants in littoral spaces.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><i>The Port</i> series has been installed in three sites: two pop-up ARI's and The Institute of Modern Art. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
