Oh Louisiana! (Photo-tapestries)

(photo-tapestries)'</i></b></u></p><p> </p><p>In 2007 I was awarded the <i>Siganto Travel Scholarship</i> to travel to the Mississippi River in Louisiana (USA) and research littoral geographies.</p><p> </p><p>Several works were made while on this trip, '<i>Hush Now Louisiana'</i>, '<i>Oh Louisiana! (palladiums)'</i> and '<i>Oh Louisiana! (photo-tapestries)'</i>. All these works responded to how littoral spaces are held amorphously by land and water, and what this means for the body standing amongst it trying to see, or find a way out. </p><p> </p><p>As a somewhat mythical landscape, I also looked at Louisiana's littorals and swamps through the animals that live amongst it, performing ectoplasm expulsions on the swamps edge, while aligators and peacocks watched.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
